If you’d walked through the lobbies of our support centres last week, you’d be forgiven for thinking you’d wandered into a sweet shop! In fact, these cornucopias of festive chocolate (including free from and allergy-wise options) were soon to be shipped to hundreds of local children who wouldn’t otherwise be receiving an Easter egg this year.
At Discovery House in Blackpool, home to our educational tours brands NST, European Study Tours and StudyLink Tours, the team collected a whopping 115 Easter eggs for The Big Food Project Blackpool Food Bank. Thanks to their egg-ceptional efforts, Easter will be a little more special for many families in their local community.
Meanwhile, at Alton Court in Ross-On-Wye, where you’ll find many of the people behind PGL, the team were collecting Easter eggs for Hope, a local charity dedicated to helping young people affected by serious illness in their family.
The team lived up to the mission to ‘going beyond’ and collected an incredible 170 chocolate eggs worth approximately £550, all of which will go to Hope Support’s young service users.
While holiday periods are a time for celebration for many, they can also draw a stark contrast for those who are struggling with poverty or illness. Holidays that focus around gift-giving can be particularly difficult for disadvantaged young people, and we are delighted to do our small part in the fantastic work these two charities are doing in bringing joy to children in their community.
Thank you to all our generous team members who donated and coordinated these initiatives – what a bunch of good eggs!
