What being a B Corp means
What is a B Corp?
A B Corp is business done the right way. Certified B Corporations are independently verified by B Lab to meet verified standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability — using business as a force for good, with benefits for people, communities and the planet.
How does B Corp certification work?
It’s rigorous – and it looks at the whole organisation. To certify, businesses complete the B Impact Assessment, which reviews how a company operates end‑to‑end; from supply chain and environmental footprint to inclusion, employee engagement and governance. Certification also requires a commitment to be accountable to all stakeholders (not just shareholders), embedding responsibility into decision‑making.
What does it mean for PGL Beyond?
We’re energised by our B Impact score of 84.1. It’s independent proof that our values show up in how we run our business. For us, that means continuing to do what matters most: unlocking the potential in young people while making sure we support our colleagues, communities and environment.
Our B Corp Journey
Amidst the disruption caused by Covid in 2020 and with a new leadership team at the helm, a renewed energy to become an even greater force for good, was gathering pace.
That ambition quickly became a shared commitment across the business, strengthening our Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) plan and embedding our Better Beyond Adventure strategy to act with purpose in the pursuit of impact.
But that journey also led us to think bigger (much bigger), and our goal to become a B Corp was set.
Involving all our colleagues across PGL Beyond, almost 3 years of work to meet rigorous B Corp standards has now resulted in our successful accreditation as a B Corp.
We’re so proud to have joined a unique global community of businesses working for people and the planet — and to keep leading with purpose in everything we do.
We’re now looking forward to where that takes us next and invite you to join us.
