PGL, the UK’s leading outdoor activity provider, has partnered with parenting charity, Parentkind, to sponsor their Summer Adventure Pack and bring adventure to more families and young people this summer.
Parentkind is a charity dedicated to empowering parents, carers or those with educational responsibility to improve the life chances of children, young people and their communities. With PGL forming part of the PGL Beyond network, a family of brands united in the purpose of unlocking potential in young people through outdoor adventure; this partnership ensures even more children experience the power of the outdoors.
The Summer Adventure Pack features free and low-cost ideas for indoor and outdoor adventures for children of all ages, as well as STEM activities, inclusive ideas for children with SEND, and family days out. Parents can also access free resources, such as PGL activity cards to bring the adventure home, and links to wellbeing support, safety guidance, and more.
“The summer holidays give parents the chance to spend quality time with their children, but with the added pressure of costs and finding ideas to keep their young ones engaged, it can feel like a barrier to adventure,” says Michelle Evans, Director of Product and Marketing at PGL Beyond.
“Through this partnership, we want to equip and empower parents with fun and budget-friendly ideas so that no child misses out on the long-lasting positive impact of spending time outdoors. We can show parents that adventures, no matter how small, can make the biggest difference.”
As part of this partnership, PGL’s Head of Impact and Breakthrough Learning, Dr. John Allan, hosted a seminar for parents on why confidence grows when young people are supported to step beyond their comfort zones in the right way, showing parents how carefully managed experiences can help young people develop the skills they need to take on everyday challenges with greater confidence.
