At PGL Beyond we’ve always been proud of the role we play within our local communities. From supporting local causes to creating employment opportunities this is a key part of our values at all our global locations.
Within our focus of being Better Beyond Adventure we considered the communities that surround our centres and support centres and how we can support them.
We are pleased to announce today that we are launching our Reachout Volunteering Scheme giving colleagues the chance to support the local causes important to them.
“From a fundraising perspective we can’t support every charity that our local to our centres,” says ESG Manager Kathryn Beaumont.
“With the launch of Reachout Volunteering, colleagues can work with local charities and causes to give back valuable time and expertise.”
The Reachout Volunteering Scheme gives all PGL Beyond full-time colleagues in the UK 8-hours of paid volunteering leave per calendar year, so they can support local causes that enrich young people’s lives.
We marked the launch of this scheme with two volunteering events this month. The first one at St. Thomas Cantilupe Church of England Academy in Hereford and the other at Heyhouses Endowed Church of England Primary School in Blackpool.
Colleagues from our two support centres in Ross on Wye and Blackpool went along to the schools and supported with much needed gardening work to create spaces for the children to use as a sensory garden and allotment respectively.
